I couldn't find sock yarn at the closest craft stores to me - Michaels & Joann's - so instead of spending the money on gas to check out a yarn store, I ordered online from KnitPicks (http://www.knitpicks.com/). The skeins were only around $3-4 each and only $3 shipping! The yarn feels pretty good.

When I was at JoAnn's I picked up the really big, cool bag for $5 (stuff was 50% off) and I got the little one (with the circles) for $1 at the dollar store. The little one will hold my socks in progress.

And I'm also working on a summer tote that I got the pattern from the May 2008 magazine "Creative Knitting". You use yarn and strips of Meijer (well, I'm using the Meijer ones) plastic shopping bags. Cool! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

I'm almost done with the bag part, next is the handles. I'll post the picture of it when I'm done. I'm thinking I'd like to make some smaller ones to sell. Very good idea for using up all those (I know I have lots and lots) plastic bags and not filling a landfill with them.
