Our tree split in the middle and one side went one way and the other side went the other way. We went up to our insurance agency to see what is covered....seems nothing unless its over $250 worth of damage to the structure. Well we are blessed people.....nothing was damaged, not even a wire tore down. (Praise the Lord!)......not even one of my knick knacks was broken that resided under the tree. Two rougue tomato plants died but oh, well, we didn't plant them anyway....the birds did.
So what to do. By the time an insurance adjuster came out it would be Tuesday or Wednesday and we didn't think anything was wrong anyway and who wants to waste a weekend. We could rent a chainsaw for $40 for the day.....or better buy one - just happened to find one on sale for $60.....so........
And of course if I'm going to help I had to be fashionable.....new gloves for me! :-D
So that evening 1/2 of it is piled up and moved out of the yard. 1/2 to go.
But I'm grateful that nothing bad happened. Nothing's broken, the house is fine. No major damage. And now I guess there's room for the pergola (http://www.ehow.com/build-a-pergola/) I've always wanted. :-)

A PERGOLA!?!? I can barely cut the tree down let alone build a pergola. Would you settle for a bench made from the branches and a big umbrella??
